Three Signs You Might Be Addicted to Drugs

Statistics suggest that around 5% of the world has at some point developed a drink or drug addiction. The scale of the problem is so vast that EU. S have started calling their drug crisis an epidemic. A combination of pharmaceutical companies promising us that drugs were safe combined with prescriptions that have been systematically abused. We now have too many people addicted to drugs.

The Three Signs You Might Be a Drug Addict

Drug addiction is insipid. It creeps up on us when we are least expecting it. Often, we don’t notice until it’s too late. Check yourself by looking out for these three signs.

1 – You cannot go a day without taking drugs

You can be an addict and not use drugs every day. However, if your addiction demands that you use drugs every Saturday night when you’re out with the lads, then this constitutes a drug addiction. At least, if you can’t go that Saturday night without drugs, then you are addicted. Perhaps you are the type of addict that has one or two glasses of wine at night, after a long day’s work?

However you drink or however you use drugs, if you cannot skip a day, then you have an addiction problem.

2 – You get withdrawal symptoms

People who suffer from drug addiction often suffer withdrawal symptoms when they don’t have enough. Withdrawal symptoms typically start a few hours after your last use. They will last either until your next use, or for a few weeks if you are trying to quit. It is possible to have quit using your drug and still feel cravings for its years down the line. 3 – You hide your addiction

Finally, if you’re the type of person who must hide their drug use from their loved ones, then you are the type of person who is in danger of addiction. We hide it because we are ashamed. And we are ashamed because we know it is wrong. Hiding drug addiction includes things like hiding the money that you spent on drugs. It might mean that you must meet your dealer in secret or that you have joined multiple medical practises to have multiple prescriptions filled at the same time.

However you do it, hiding your addiction is a sure sign that you have a problem. Seek help as soon as you can. The longer you leave an addiction, the worse it becomes and the more it costs to treat. Services are available to give you the best possible chance.
